Title: Booklet; "Fossils, the WPA, Bonneauville, and R. B. Orndorff ..."
Item History:

During the Great Depression, some of the men of Bonneauville were able to feed their families by working for the WPA (Work Projects Administration). The Administration completed several lasting projects on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Among them is a bridge over Plum Run at the base of Big Round Top which was built from stone. The rocks were quarried at York Springs. The dinosaur footprints found in the material are still quite visible at the battlefield bridge today.
