This binder contains miscellaneous photographs, prayer cards etc. that several generations of the Kuhn family had chosen to preserve.
Of particular note is a grouping of sixteen color photographs.
On June 15, 1977, the Reverand Father Paul Rindos and a group of his St. Joseph the Worker parishioners departed from Harrisburg Airport for a trip to Rome. Joining Fr. Rindos were his father Jake, Bunk and Ann Sneeringer, Dick and Mary Selby, and Marie Kuhn. A large group of faithful Catholics including Bishop Joseph Daley also boarded the chartered flight at Harrisburg
The primary purpose of the trip was to attend the canonization of St. John Nepomucene Neumann (who on at least one occasion visited St. Joseph's Church in Bonneauville.) St. John Neumann is the only male from the US ever to have become a saint. Ample sightseeing was included while in Rome, according to a two page diary of the trip written by Marie Kuhn and herein contained.
The sixteen photographs of the trip to Rome are not true to their original color. Of the primary colors, red fades the most, at a rate depending on surrounding air quality and light conditions. These photos were stored in an attic for decades.
The below grouping of photos is a sampling of those contained in a black binder labeled: 2014-08Y.
