Early 20th Century Bonneauvillians making the trip to Gettysburg, five miles to the west, crossed two covered bridges. One was over White Run, one mile west of Bonneauville. The other, shown in this photo, spanned Rock Creek at Gettysburg. The daughters of John Keiser, whose farm was near Bonneauville, were "afraid to drive their cattle across the bridge," to Gettysburg. "The bridge swayed so badly we would walk the cattle through the water instead."
