Acquisition No.: 2012-28
Title: Gas Station Premium; Anodized Aluminum Tumblers.
Item History: Color Craft aluminum tumblers were produced in the early 1960's. At that time, the draw-formed shape of the aluminum glass coupled with the rich chromatic anodized colors and light weight was unique. Technology had progressed to a point where such attractive pieces were economical to produce. Their popularity soared for years. Stores and gas stations used them as premiums. At Eugene Craig's Cities Service gas station in Bonneauville, one glass could be had for each fill-up of the gas tank. Choose your favorite color. In addition to these four colors, red, green, purple and gold, blue, silver and perhaps others were available.
