A 6" x 8" display case containing two large, early crucifixes, and a small white cloth heart with needlepoint branches and cross. Also contained is a tiny leather pouch about the size of a dime. Within the pouch was a twenty-six line prayer in Latin, printed on thin onion skin like paper of 2 1/4 inches x 2 3/4 inches.
The two crucifixes measure 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" and 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" Both are brass on wood construction. Both display a brass skull and crossbones below the feet of Jesus. Indicative of their age, the use of the skull and crossbones on religious crucifixes was already in decline by the end of the 1800's.
All displayed items are from the Simon/Anna Kuhn Collection.
