This building stands at 1 E. Hanover Street. It was constructed very early in the 20th Century by the Emory L. Golden Family. The Golden's produced famous Blue Ribbon Cigars and had outgrown their former location across the street at 1 W. Hanover St. This structure housed a general store on the lower floor and a cigar production facility upstairs. Note the footbridge over Chicken Run in the foreground.
The stream now runs through a culvert. The concrete steps have since been removed and fill ground added to raise the parking level to near that of the door jamb. The building has undergone several remodeling iterations and is currently the home of Weaver's Store. Frederick Golden collection, Brushtown. PA.
